ABOUT CCU
Since the mid-1970s, breakthroughs in colorectal cancer management have been minimal and only a few cytotoxic agents comprised the majority of treatment regimens. This has recently changed with the emergence of data on new chemotherapeutic regimens, biologic agents and surgical approaches that have proved effective for adjuvant and advanced colorectal cancer treatment. To ensure that emerging data on these newer interventions are reaching practicing clinicians, in 2006 Dr Neil Love and Research To Practice launched Colorectal Cancer Update for Surgeons. CCU for Surgeons grants general surgeons and surgical oncologists ongoing access to the opinions and perspectives of renowned researchers in academia with a specific interest in the surgical and systemic management of colorectal cancer and other GI tumors. Modeled after its predecessor in breast cancer, the series is intended to be a valuable, relevant and important resource in both the surgical and oncology communities.
